Assistant to the Pastor

Pastor Sutton’s ministry has centered on the empowerment and mobilization of the laity and lay leadership of the church and on strengthening the spiritual and administrative aspects of the congregation. Under Pastor Sutton’s leadership, the Church places a high emphasis upon Christian Discipleship, Leadership Training, Christian Stewardship, and Home and Foreign Mission Support.

In September of 2005, under the visionary leadership of Pastor Sutton, the First Baptist Church family embarked upon a community venture where the congregation has committed itself to the building of a multimillion dollar Family Life Center in order to serve the Stratford and Greater Bridgeport Community in order to advance the Kingdom of God.

OUR PASSION, COMMITMENT, AND SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY IS DEMONSTRATED IN THE FOLLOWING MANNERS:

Outreach Ministry servicing homeless shelters, Rehabilitation Centers, and the Bridgeport Correctional Center.

Agape Food Pantry serves persons from Stratford and Bridgeport and is opened the 2nd 3rd and 4th Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Our Mission & Vision

“Casting the vision – A church that builds one life at a time”

The First Baptist Church of Stratford is focused on relationships. We see people as individuals, not just numbers. We are committed to helping people grow in their faith, no matter where they are on their journey.
